Clenching teeth cause pain at top of head?

I know I clench my teeth. Does anyone know if it makes sense to have a random twinge of pain on the top of the head, toward the back of the crown, from clenching teeth? I could see where temples and areas of head closer to front of head may hurt, but not right on top or toward the back.

If this is a recurring pain, I would suggest you seek medical attention. I clench my teeth, but the worst I get is the pain in my temples, such as you described. It could be something else. Go to a doctor if you feel it's necessary. Try wearing a mouth guard at night to avoid teeth grinding, that might help too. If it's temporary and goes away on it's own within a few days, it's probably just one of those weird unexplained random pains we all feel from time to time.
Reply:you may have T.M.J. ask your dentist
Reply:defiantly...my daughter had this problem, will also cause to become loose and crack....you need a guard over your teeth at night, see dentist....
Reply:yes it could be the cause... and i think it's the cause...

u can have a device called night guard, and if the clenching is sever u can have with the night guard a muscle relaxant...

DOT take anything until the doctor tell u....

BUT to be more scientific u have to visit a dentist.. u may have other teeth problems that is caused by clenching...

all my talks were if the cause is dental... but visiting ur dentist well reveal that...............
