Can severe pain cause your teeth to "chatter"?

I have been diagnosed with endometriosis and was in severe pain today, despite taking regular doses of pain killers. The pain was so severe my teeth started to "chatter" like they do when you are cold/shivering (I was not cold). Can this "chattering" be caused by the severe pain?

Can severe pain cause your teeth to "chatter"?
Yes, its very common for muscles all over your body to "shiver" while youre in severe pain. Your adrenaline levels were probably very high.
Reply:My teeth chatter when Im in pain too. Whether it's Moderate to Severe...I sit there with my eyes tightly shut and my teeth chattering.
Reply:Yes, this can occur from severe pain. I would also recommend asking your doctor for a referral to a Pain Management doctor that has experience with chronic pain as a result of female problems like endometriosis to see what other suggestions they have that might help you with your pain.
Reply:Yep, that can happen. It's like your muscles tighten up but are trying to relax and you just chatter. If your meds weren't helping or weren't enough you'd better call your Doc ASAP. If it happens again please go to the ER and don't suffer through it.
