Before I did or took anything, I would call to to my dentist. They can be removed before they come through. But, in your condition, I would think they would want to wait. And I would not take any type of medicine w/o discussing w/my doctor.

Have you tried to use Oral Gel" to temporarily numb the pain? Also, washing your mouth out with warm salt water will help. If the gum is real swollen, try a cold pack against the jaw for about 15 min, and if the swelling has gone down, use heat on it for the same amount of time. You rotate this if the swelling keeps coming back

I had to same problem when I was 19 with my first son, and we are all healthy, wealthy and wise. My children are grown and I have three beautiful grand children......lol :)

It really was painful but I had to do the things I recommended to you. Once the baby arrives and you can get to an oral surgeon, they can remove it so it will no longer bother you. I just had one removed and it did not hurt at all.
Reply:take an advil
Reply:Ibuprofen works pretty well. So does a liquid valiium.
Reply:Consult your doctor, don't listen to anyone on here.
Reply:agree with that guy. dont listen to anybody here. see a doctor
Reply:I doubt they would do it while your pregnant, because of the baby's health. Just take advil or get some gel or something for tooth aches! Wisdom teeth do hurt coming in, usually when they hurt, they need to come out! Sorry. Dont be gettin all snotty with peoples answers. They are just tryin to help. Shi* pregnant at 19, GREAT PARENTS!!!!!!!
Reply:Take advil and find out. But have your dentist refer you to an Oral Surgeon. I had mine out in November and had 0 prolems. They will tell you or not if this can be done while you are pregnant.
Reply:You should call your primary care doctor and ask what would be safe for you to take.

In the mean time put a cold compress up against your cheek to help numb the pain.
Reply:For temporary relief, you can get OraGel at the drug store. Rubbing it on your gums will deaden them. (They make something similar in a milder form for teething babies.)

Then do call your dentist's office and talk to them.
Reply:dampin a wash cloth, place in the microwave up to 30 seconds. watch it will be really hot, so take a potholder to get it out. then place on your jaw.

this helped me. since your preggers id ask your doctor about what pain meds you can take or oragel and get your self into the dentist. your teeth might be growing into some other teeth causeing you alot of pain. but in the mean while. do the wash cloth thing. :)
Reply:It sounds as if your wisdom teeth are impacted. You can ease the pain with salt water rinses and over the counter pain reliever. Call your doctor for advice on which to take since you are pregnant. You may also want to read the information here: http://health.yahoo.com/oralcare-overvie...
Reply:IF you are sure this is not an infection that has become an abscess...you may be able to ride it our with cold compress.

Infections in the mouth hurt like heck of course but worse, one does not want them to spread to the jaw bone and then travel to that closer organ...your brain.

I would say go to the dentist and let him or her be the judge for both of your health.

The very best of luck with this and your new family.
