After wisdom teeth surgery pain?

I had my wisdom teeth out january 17th, so its been about 3 weeks, and my other infront of where they were extracted still hurt. Its like a throbbing sensation and pain when i bite down, is this normal, and should i get this checked out? Is there something wrong with my other teeth?

Get a bottle of Listerine, (Not the cheep stuff... Get the name brand Blue stuff!) Water it down by HALF, and use it as often as every half an hour...

OR

Mix Epsom Salts and Table Salt in water and use it like mouth wash...

You need to see your dentist... You REALLY do... 3 weeks is a long time past when it should have stopped...

Is it inflamed? Is there swelling that is noticible through the cheek? Do you have a fever? (Even a SLIGHT fever?)

If it is infected then it is bad and you need to use the listerine more then ever... But if it isn't inflamed you got some time...
Reply:3 weeks sounds like a long time for your mouth to be sore. You may have what is called "dry socket". I think that the dentist will need to check your mouth to be sure what it is.
Reply:Usually the pain is supposed to go away within the first 2 weeks. Its really strange that yours is longer but it will probably go away. Try washing out your mouth with saltwater and maybe having it checked out by a dentist or doctor. You probably are in healing process. Perhaps the dentist had the root snap when he pulled you tooth, sometimes that happens.
Reply:It could be an infection. A month after having all four of my wisdom teeth cut out, one of the areas became infected. I first went to my regular dentist and he prescribed an antibiotic and pain killer then sent me to the dentist that did my surgery, who flushed out the infection and stuck medicated gauze near the infection. I had to go back to him a few more times after that but the infection and pain went away.
