Wisdom teeth pain 4 days after and sore throat?
You might have dry socket, and that's why the pain is so intense. Four days post-extraction is the right time frame for it. It's caused by one of the clots getting dislodged. They have treatments for it at your oral surgeon's office. You should call them as soon as the office opens in the morning to see if they can get you in.
In the meantime, see if you can swish with salt water, or put it in a Water Pic and gently spray out the spot with salt water.
The sites below have more information.
One of the interesting tidbits in the first site says that if you're on the pill, you're more likely to have dry socket.
Reply:Call your DR; don't need a infection
Reply:You need to call your dentist immediately or go to the ER. It sounds like you've definitely got an infection, and the longer you wait the worse it will get. The sore throat could be a signal that you're fighting off a cold. No matter how you look at it, your body bc of the surgery is immunocompromised.
Please do not wait any longer on this. You can't afford to get dehydrated and dizzy from lack of food to boot. You'll just go downhill faster.
Reply:Okay.. I had my teeth pulled out on MONDAY! and i'm still experiencing pain. I too, have a sore throat... Unfortunately, I had impacted wisdom teeth and I only recieved vicodin. My Oral surgeon didn't even give me an antibiotic! I didn't recieve stiches either. In my opinion, you should call you dentist/dr. tomorrow and let him know you're still experiencing pain. Trust me, I'm in the same situation as you! I clean them as I am supposed to and the one started bleeding. So.. I'm calling mine tomorrow and hopefully he can do something for me. OH! I had a dry socket (which you may have) and he added cloved oil on a piece of gauze to it. It helped a lot. Okay, sorry to keep rambling.. I just know how you feel at the current moment! Take care, and good luck!!
