I have extreme pain radiating from my jaw to my chin which comes and goes every few minutes. Teeth feel fine.

Could this be dental related even though my teeth don't hurt? I had a deep filling done in that area several months ago. I don't feel pain in teeth, just in the chin area radiating from jaw. Pain is excruciating, then subsides, then a few minutes later it comes back again! This has been going on for several days and keeping me awake all night. I have dental appt. on Monday. Does this sound like dental related?

nope it sounds like angina, see a doctor x
Reply:I thinkk its jaw pain .even I had it. dont bite and eat hard food. avoid turning your jaw .dont open your mouth too much. oil massage is best.mix lavender oil with peppermint oil.and with your thumb massage .do this for about a week or till pain subside.best of luck
Reply:It might be. Hope you can wait until the Monday appointment. This may also be heart related, so if you're at risk for a heart attack, and even if you're not, if this pain continues much longer I would head to the emergency room asap.
Reply:sounds like to need to take sinus med. because when you get sinus or Hay Fever %26amp; Seasonal Allergies. your teeth move in and out. but still have your teeth look at to you never know
Reply:could be dental related, but i would get to my M.D. and tell him what your symptoms are exactly. He might refer you to have a coronary checkup. Radiating pain in the jaw, along w/ heaviness in the chest and pain in the left arm are all classic signs of a heart attack!!! Get this checked out asap. don't play games with this, your body is talking to you.
Reply:Having pain in the are where you had deep filling may be the problem Is there an infection? or was it close to a nerve?

Keep your dentist appt on Monday if that is not the problem then see a cardiologist. Maybe there is an abscess on the root of the tooth.
Reply:If symptoms get worse before your appt Monday I would consider a trip to the ER. These symptoms can be classic signs of heart problems also. However, I have a tooth abscess being treated right now and before it actually abscessed and swelled up around the tooth I had the same symptom. I couldnt pin point what was causing that radiating pain until the tooth swelled and abscessed.
Reply:Sounds like you need to go back to the dentist. Depending on if you have swelling in the area there are numerous things dealing with jaw pain. Osteomyelitis, actinomycosis, abcesses, recurrent carries, or root canals could be the diagnosis to name a few. You could have a blockage in your salivary glands as well. All of these sound scary but can be fixed by going to your dentist.
