Wisdom teeth pain?

what is the type of pain like, is it less or more painful that an ankle sprain, what does it feel like?

Wisdom teeth pain?
It hurts! Sorry to scare you, lol. I have one coming in and I wanted to go in there and rip the damn thing out. I had headaches, chills and nausea because of the pain. (Try an ice cube to numb it.) Its still got a ways to go and I have not been able to eat certain foods. I can't really compare the pain to a ankle sprain, never had one. Your tooth is breaking through the gum so expect there to be some pain and good luck.
Reply:Do you mean the pain of teeth coming in, or after you get them taken out? I've experienced both so I'll cover each of them.

When the teeth start to come in, it depends on how straight they are. Mine were impacted sideways- basically, they were completely on their sides in my jaw and when they grew, they grew toward the molars next to them. Ouch! This pain came and went for a few weeks. It was nothing nearly as bad as an ankle sprain, but an annoying achy feeling.

Now when I got my teeth removed, the pain didn't even come until the second day, when everything started swelling. Even that pain wasn't too terrible, though. The pain medication brought it right down to a manageable level. All in all, not the worst thing that ever happened to me. Not pleasant, but definitely not awful.

I hope I answered your question!
Reply:Feels like you have a severe cavity .....get them out!
Reply:it is tremendous pounding pain. ive never had my ankle broken though so i wouldnt know. but i do know it hurts ALOT
Reply:it feels like pain but in your mouth
Reply:it feels like a really bad pinch but cold water helps numb it or hot water depends on the person and biting something like gum helps too
Reply:very painful , it's like a tooth breaking through your guums , if your worried about it then your can get painkillers from a doctor
Reply:IT HURTS LIKE HELL..................
Reply:The best way to describe it is a 'dull' throbbing pain, as opposed to a sharp or excruciating pain. I had all four wisdom teeth taken out at once, so believe me I know what I am saying.
Reply:to be honest, i had no pain whatsoever. i just looked like a chipmunk for a couple of weeks. and even still, you get pain killers
Reply:With them breaking through...horrible. Getting them out is a relief.
Reply:I never sprained my ankle. I never got a wisdom tooth pulled. I really don't know!!! However, I broke my wrist and it hurt a lot less than I thought it would!!! You'll be fine!
Reply:Wisdom teeth can cause quite a bit of pain.It is like a dull ache right at the back so can cause pain up the side of the face and headache too!
Reply:For me when they were coming in it was just really sore and if anything got in between my teeth it was horrible... once I got them out it was painful for the first few days * I had all four taken out same time, two of which were impacted* Then after the first two days or so it was fine, a little sore every now and then. Four years later everything is feeling fine, although I feel like sometimes I have "phantom" wisdom teeth/tooth *slight ache* But other than that great!! I would get yours taken out.. its no big deal and pain isn't horrible *the worse part for me was getting a shot to knock me out*
Reply:Don't ask me . . . "They" nearly lost me in the Dentist's Chair over a Wisdom Tooth that made its entry (abscessed)!!! It was rare indeed and I had an extremely high temperature . . . the next thing was supposed to be convulsions and then coma, followed by death. Anyway, all said and done, I have had 5 WTs . . . Since one of them actually came out in two pieces . . . Sort of a tooth and then a bone . . . It was terrible.
Reply:I uusually get this pain after smilling too much sounds weird I know but for some reason my wisdom teeth will act up if I smile too much. It feels like an over worked muscle, like when you get after a day of working out and you muscle hurts a little. try putting some ambisole on it or (and I know this sounds so wrong but humor me) Baby night time oral gel. for some reason this actually works and works better than ambisole for me put some on a kuetip and place it right in your wisdom teeth it should at least help with the pain. But you should see a doctor and if you are comparing the pain to a sprained ankle you may need to have them removed. Good luck with that.
Reply:If you're feeling pain in the back of your mouth, it's best for you to seek the care of your dental care professional. It's important to see your dentist or oral surgeon if you're feeling pain, because your wisdom teeth could impact the nerves in your jaw.

When you have your wisdom teeth extracted, there's little to no pain. The pain comes afterward, in which case, the doctor will either prescribe you pain killers such as Vicodin. I took Vicodin for about 3 days and then was fine with taking Advil.
Reply:If u mean the pain when u get them out,it's horrible but if u mean the time when they come out it's easier.trust me !
Reply:Well, if you're referring to the pain involved in wisdom teeth extraction/removal, then I can say that it's minimal. The only part that hurted during the process was when they gave me anesthetic needles. And the pain afterwards was limited to jaw stiffness (if they give you stitches). But the stiffness went away after a few days. Other than that, the surgery was way less painful than I expected it to be. But different people have different cases, so it might be painful for some. And it also depends on the dentist's skill level.
