I have been having cold/hot sensitivity on my right upper side, in the back. I had several fillings done, but months later, the pain is still there. The dentist says that I don't need a root canal, but doesn't know why I'm still having the sensitivity. Can it be my wisdom teeth, or an infection? Do I have mouth cancer? I also have constant pain in my lower right side. Do I need a new dentist? Sensitive toothpaste does not help.
What can be done to relieve teeth sensitivity and pain?
no, you'll have infection that has got to the inside of the tooth. The fillings may not have been placed deeply enough but there are many reasons why your dentist may not have initially done them so deeply. In other words, there may still be decay under the filling.
you'll need root canal treatment, that's it.
nothing else to worry about...from waht you say. unless you have white legions in your mouth i can say you probably don't have cancer.
Reply:Try getting another opinion. Try using orajel mouth aid until then. But seriously consider having another opinion if you are still in a constant discomfort. Good luck! Hope you feel better!
Reply:Sensodine toothpaste. For all your worries, those are questions for your dentist to answer.
Reply:If these are the white tooth colored fillings then they may be sensitive due to faulty technique. These restorations are extremely technique sensitive and if not adhered to explicitly the teeth will let you know by being sensitive long term. The only way to stop it is to redo the restorations.
Reply:Try getting a q tip and dabbing a bit of vodka on it and putting it in your gums,,it will help a lot
Reply:Try a different dentist and see if the pain goes away.
